But no worries because there's a new coffee shop in the city at 24 South Warren St.
Slammin' Brew is set to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, April 3 at 11:30 a.m. It officially opened on Monday, March 18.
In addition to coffee and specialty drinks and pastries, Slammin' Brew serves sandwiches and salads.
Its new manager, Megan Morelli, had managed a Starbucks at Target in South Brunswick.
"That's where my coffee journey started," Morelli said.
Slammin' Brew employs about nine people.
"We're definitely here for the community," Morelli said.
They plan to host events for authors, musicians and comedians. "And we're selling local art."
"We want to be just another home for people," Morelli said.
Starbucks recently announced it was closing its only Trenton store at 102 S. Warren St., as reported here.
Starbucks is located three stores down from Slammin' Brew.
"I have mixed feelings," Morelli said. "It's where a lot of people got their first jobs around here. It's upsetting."
